We believe that education is foundational to quality clinical practice, and is a life-long professional undertaking. Learning is facilitated when the learner: is engaged in meaningful and relevant activities, builds on existing knowledge, skills and experiences, has opportunities for creativity, and engages with co-learners. We believe that mentoring is central to learning how to be a healthcare professional with mentors and learners strengthening knowledge and skills together.
Shelley Fraser, Practice Consultant, Education Strategy and Co-Facilitator, Educator Pathway, PHC
Students are our future workforce, and as such, we have a responsibility to help them learn and grow so that they can feel confident in joining teams as new graduates.

I was a nursing student at St. Paul's for three months. It was difficult; some days I wasn't sure I could do it, but by the end I realized how much I grew, both personally and professionally. The staff were great and I found some wonderful mentors. I feel grateful for my experience at Providence!
